Labette County can be summed up in a single phrase - quality of life.  The region has abundant outdoor recreational opportunities associated with the Neosho River and Big Hill Lake -- as well ass the Big Hill and Harmone State Wildlife Areas -- providing residents with a wide range of opportunities for fishing, hiking, hunting, swimming and biking.  The County is also home to four golf courses, numerous city and county parks and has a wide range of recreational sports programs for children.
